CLAIRE OWSIANY

Hi, my name is Claire Owsiany, I am from the Philly suburbs, and I am studying Media Production and Film. My positions in the documentary include end credits, cinematography, and editing. I am passionate about sports broadcasting, but I really wanted to learn about other fields in Media Production, so I am so excited to be a part of the documentary. I hope our documentary will raise awareness and help our community learn more about the foster care system.

ELLIS DUNN

I’m a Media Production major with a Film Studies minor from Pittsburgh, PA. I am focused on creating a visually captivating documentary while informing the viewers on the reality of the foster care system. I hope to one day be working on film sets as a cinematographer or in post-production as an editor. I’m really excited to create a captivating story that can inspire the audience to learn more about the foster care system and take action.

EMMIT KOLOWSKI

Assistant to the team

I’m a Media Production major with an English minor, and I’m from Spencer, OH. All my life, I have wanted to work in the creative industry. This documentary has helped me to better understand what the professional world of nonfiction media production looks like, and how to handle the demand of several different groups and organizations, on top of my personal life. I look forward to adding my own personal touch to the project, and I am excited to see how everything comes together in the end.

HAYDEN PARSONS

Hello! My name is Hayden, and I’m from Tipp City, OH. I’m currently a Media Production major with minors in English and Creative Writing at the University of Dayton. My passion for media began in middle school when I worked on our morning news show, and I’ve been set on pursuing this field ever since. Even before starting college, I looked forward to taking the documentary class, and it’s been an incredible experience. My key responsibilities include framing and lighting interviews, managing social media, designing the website, and editing. I am so excited to have the opportunity to highlight voices that are often lost in the narrative.

My name is Jaqueline Sweet! I live in Lebanon, OH and am double majoring in Marketing & Communication (Media Production). I’m excited to bring awareness to the reality of foster care and amplify the stories of those within the system. I aim to hone my skills in writing and marketing, explore what roles and tasks interest me, and be there for my team! Outside of class, I enjoy doodling, jewelry making, and journaling.

Hi everyone! My name is Joe Sullivan, and I'm from Flossmoor, Illinois. I'm a Media Productions major with a minor in Journalism. I'm currently pursuing a career in sports media through content creation and talent. I'm thrilled to be a part of the documentary team this year, as I hope that we can inform and make an impact on communities in relation to the foster care system. My name is Kristianna Walters and I'm from Chesterfield, Michigan. I declared Media Production my freshman year and have since found my love for editing. My goal after graduation is to start a career in the film industry. Being part of this documentary team is such an honor because I get to spread awareness about foster care and help tell people's experiences.

My name is Kristine Hillstrom and I am from Rocky River, Ohio. I declared media production my sophomore year after I fell in love with the subject of screenwriting. To help achieve my goal to write for the screen, I will pursue a career in the film industry. Having a writing role for doc is such an honor not only for personal reasons but for being able to show others some foster care experiences from our amazing subjects through the art of storytelling.

MARISSA PERKINS

My name is Marissa Perkins and I'm from Noblesville, Indiana. I was introduced to visual storytelling in high school through an editing class and from there I quickly learned how much I loved to create video and impactful stories. Whenever I am asked what my goals in life are, I normally say that I hope to create a story in some form or capacity that changes the way someone acts or thinks for the better. I hope I can check this goal off for the first time with our documentary-- hearing that someone opened up their home to foster care because of our film will truly make me feel fulfilled in life.

My name is Megan Sullivan and I’m from West Chester, Ohio. I’m majoring in Media Production and minoring in PR, which is why I enjoy being heavily involved in the marketing aspects of Doc. I’ve also had a passion for writing since I was younger, so being apart of the writing team has been an enjoyable way to really challenge myself.

Hello! My name is Sophie! I am a Senior from Grand Rapids, MI studying Media Production at UD with a minor in Spanish. If I could pick a dream job, it would either be to open my own coffee shop or to be behind the camera as a professional Cinematographer. I love sharing meaningful stories that create real impact... SO I am very grateful to be a part of this wonderful documentary on foster care! I hope this story impacts you, as it has for me!
